Job summary

The Witherslack Group is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and SEMH needs. You will help them learn, build confidence and achieve positive outcomes in a supportive classroom environment.

You’ll work with teachers, therapists and other staff, receiving full induction and ongoing training. The role offers a structured, inclusive setting with excellent benefits and opportunities for progression within the group.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a classroom is preferred and training will be provided.
  • Induction and on the job training are included.
  • A proactive approach to helping children learn and develop self-esteem.

Responsibilities

  • Support children with ASD/SEMH needs during lessons.
  • Assist the teacher to deliver learning activities and raise engagement.
  • Help learners develop abilities and confidence through patient guidance and encouragement.
  • Collaborate with therapists and school staff to ensure consistent support.
