Job summary

An independent SEN School in Merstham is seeking an experienced X3 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide support to students with ASD and other needs. You will implement strategies to manage behaviours, collaborate with teaching staff, and monitor student progress. Ideal candidates will have experience in SEN settings and demonstrate resilience, empathy, and a collaborative spirit.

Qualifications

  • Experience within an SEN school is preferred.
  • Experience supporting students/children especially with Autism is preferred.
  • Demonstrate the ability to support students with diverse needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with ASD.
  • Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement IEPs.

Uniform Education is working with an independent SEN School located in Merstham (RH1). This SEN school caters to students aged 11 - 16 with moderate to complex needs.

This SEN School caters to students with SEN needs including Autism, ADHD, non-verbal, mild and moderate needs and speech and language delay.

This SEN School prides itself on creating safe, happy and stimulating environment for where every child feels valued and inspired to learn.

Requirements
  • Experience within an SEN school is preferred
  • Experience supporting students/children especially with Autism is preferred
  • Resilience and Empathy: Demonstrate the ability to support students with diverse needs
  • Clear Boundary Setting: Establish and maintain clear boundaries to create a structured learning environment.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to provide comprehensive support to students.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with ASD and other needs, re‑directing negative behaviours and promoting positive engagement.
  • Implement strategies to manage and de‑escalate challenging behaviours.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor student progress and provide teacher with feedback to support their social and emotional development.
