Vision for Education are actively recruiting caring, reliable and motivated SEN Teaching Assistants to work in the Newport area, supporting pupils within a specialist primary school setting.
This role involves supporting pupils with a wide range of additional learning needs (ALN), including pupils who may display challenging behaviour. The school is seeking committed support staff to work on a 1:1 and small group basis, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to pupils' learning, development and emotional wellbeing.
The role is based in Newport.
The position is within a specialist primary SEN school supporting pupils with ALN.
As part of the SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will support pupils in the classroom to meet daily learning, care and developmental objectives.
You will build strong, nurturing and professional relationships with pupils and act as a positive role model.
The role will require you to identify triggers and support the de‑escalation of behaviour in a calm and proactive manner.
Work on a 1:1 and small group basis to support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
Follow the direction of the class teacher and SENCO, assisting where needed.
Use your skills, experience and initiative to create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Contribute ideas to support and enhance teaching, learning and pupil progress.
