If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Randstad Education is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled SEN Teaching Assistant for a rewarding role in a specialist primary setting in the Bradford area, focusing on Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).

Key Responsibilities:

As a specialist TA, your role will focus entirely on the pupil's holistic needs and well-being. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering immersive, sensory-rich activities (e.g., hydrotherapy, tactile engagement) aligned with individualised learning goals.
  • Assisting confidently with all aspects of personal care, including feeding, hygiene, and changing, maintaining the pupil's dignity at all times.
  • Safely using specialist equipment (hoists, wheelchairs) and applying approved Moving & Handling techniques to support mobility.
  • Utilising non-verbal communication methods (objects of reference, gesture) to build rapport and aid interaction.
  • Implementing programmes set by Speech and Language Therapists (SALT) and Occupational Therapists (OT) within the classroom.
Requirements:

To excel in this position, you must possess:

  • Extensive, recent experience supporting children with PMLD or complex physical disabilities.
  • Proven confidence in providing personal care and using specialist manual handling equipment.
  • An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
  • The legal right to work in the UK without any restrictions.
  • Training certificates in Moving & Handling and/or Team Teach are highly advantageous.
  • Exceptional patience, reliability, and physical fitness necessary for the demands of the role.
