Job summary

The Supply Register, in partnership with Beckfoot Trust, is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils at Hazelbeck School. Hazelbeck is a specialist setting for learners with complex needs, including severe and profound learning difficulties and autism.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, assisting with EHCP targets and communication strategies. You will work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEN in school or care settings
• Patience, resilience, and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Understanding safeguarding and child protection procedures
• Willingness to support personal care needs

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN
• Support pupils with EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
• Assist with communication strategies (including visual supports and AAC)
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Support personal care where required
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

About the Role

The Supply Register are delighted to be working in partnership with Beckfoot Trust to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils at Hazelbeck School.

Hazelbeck School is a specialist setting supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, including severe and profound learning difficulties, autism, and associated communication and sensory needs. Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with special educational needs
• Support pupils with EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
• Assist with communication strategies (including visual supports and alternative communication systems)
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Support personal care where required
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children or adults with SEN (school-based or care setting)
• A patient, resilient and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• A willingness to support personal care needs
