About the Schools

Our client schools in Dover provide specialist education for primary and secondary-aged pupils with a wide range of needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and complex learning needs. These schools support children and young people with significant mental health needs in highly challenging environments, offering structured, nurturing settings that prioritise emotional wellbeing and academic growth.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you'll be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of pupils with diverse and complex profiles. You'll work closely with a skilled multidisciplinary team to create an inclusive classroom where every learner is supported to reach their full potential - even in the most challenging of settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver individualised lessons suited to primary and/or secondary-aged SEN learners
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and wider school staff to support personalised learning plans
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed
  • Build strong communication with parents, carers, and external professionals
  • Maintain full compliance with safeguarding and SEN policies
What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching primary and/or secondary-aged pupils with SEN, particularly those with SEMH and mental health needs
  • Sound understanding of effective SEN teaching approaches and strategies
  • Commitment to inclusive education and the wellbeing of every learner
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational, and classroom management skills
  • Enhanced Child-only DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Full legal right to work in the UK
