SEN Teacher (Secondary) – Full Time

Location: Sunderland
Contract: Full-time, permanent (term-time)
Start date: As soon as possible

About the role We are recruiting an SEN Teacher for a specialist secondary provision catering to young people aged 11-19 with autism spectrum condition (ASC), severe learning difficulties (SLD) and communication & interaction needs. If you are an enthusiastic educator looking to deliver high-quality, personalised teaching in a supportive environment, this is for you.

Key duties

• Lead teaching and learning for groups and individual pupils with complex needs.
• Design adaptive curriculum pathways that promote independence, wellbeing and academic progress.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including therapists, behaviour support staff and families.
• Embed strength-based approaches, positive behaviour strategies and inclusive practices.
• Track, evaluate and report on pupil progress, contributing to their longer-term preparation for adulthood.
