About Lufton College

Lufton College is a 52-week residential specialist college providing quality care and education for young people aged 16‑25 diagnosed with autism or on the autistic continuum. Our students often have complex needs, associated learning difficulties and behaviours of concern. The curriculum is designed to prepare our students for adulthood and equip them with the skills and knowledge to achieve their personal best. It is delivered across a variety of settings, including students’ homes, vocational placements both internally and externally, and outdoor activities such as animal therapy and nature‑based programmes.

We are continuing to improve our provision, focusing on the quality of education, our environment, and collaboration between care, education and clinical teams.

About You

Main Responsibilities

• Create and follow high‑quality, ambitious curriculum plans, from long‑term overviews to individualised schemes of work
• Develop high‑quality session plans, demonstrating effective differentiation to meet diverse students’ needs
• Act as a personal tutor to a small group of students, supporting them to achieve EHCP outcomes related to independent living skills, personal resilience and learning engagement
• Collaborate with a skilled multi‑disciplinary team, expanding the horizons and improving the skills of young people, while balancing therapeutic approaches and enjoyable life experiences
• Have experience in coordinating or delivering post‑16 PSHE (or relevant qualifications/experiences)
