Job Title:SEN Teacher
Location: Weymouth
Pay Rate: £31,650 - £49,084 Annually (MPS/UPS) (depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026 / Immediate
Contract Type: Permanent/full time

Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher with experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs?

GSL Education are looking for committedSEN Teachersto join schools acrossWeymouth.

As anSEN Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and adapting lessons to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEND. Working closely with support staff and parents, you will create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that nurtures pupils academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities of an SEN Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils with a range of SEND, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support accessibility and progression.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff.
  • Track pupil progress and provide constructive feedback to pupils and parents.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Contribute to the development of personalised learning plans and EHCPs.
  • Engage in whole-school activities and contribute to the wider school community.

SEN Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience teaching pupils with SEN needs.
  • Strong knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with a variety of learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and nurture young learners.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to teaching.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
