SEN teacher

  • Full Time Long term temporary
  • Specialist Academy (6-18) based in Middlesbrough
  • 160- 240 p/day
  • Start Date: January

Veritas Education are currently supporting a forward-thinking and inclusive school in Middlesbrough that forms part of a successful academy trust. This school are a specialist provision catering for young people aged 11-16 with severe learning difficulties (SLD).

On behalf of the school, we are seeking an enthusiastic, resilient, and creative SEN Teacher to join its dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a warm, welcoming school community with a strong team ethos. Also, an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people!

As a SEND Teacher you will:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated, engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with complex learning needs
  • Create a nurturing and structured classroom environment that promotes progress and wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, including support staff, therapists, and families.
  • Promote independence, emotional regulation, and social communication skills alongside academic development.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • Specialised training in SEN settings
  • Experience of working with students with a range of additional needs
  • A deep understanding of inclusive education and a commitment to personalised learning.
  • Patience, empathy, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to adapt teaching methods
  • Flexibility, creativity, and a proactive approach to overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Full Enhanced DBS on the update service
