Job summary

Red Kite School in Princes Risborough is seeking an SEN Teacher to support learners aged 11–18 with SEMH needs. You’ll plan highly personalised lessons, build trusting relationships and help pupils overcome barriers, developing confidence, curiosity and a love of learning.

This is a permanent, full-time post (40 hours/week, Monday to Friday), start January 2027, with term-time only option; UK applicants only.

Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent is required.
  • A genuine passion for helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning.
  • Creativity, flexibility and the ability to adapt teaching to individual needs.
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach, with the confidence to support pupils with additional needs.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and wider professionals.
  • Experience or training in IT or Music would be desirable.

What You’ll Bring

Experience working within SEN, Autism, SEMH or specialist education is highly desirable, but we also encourage applications from mainstream teachers who are looking to make the move into specialist education. Full support and ongoing professional development will be provided.

Red Kite School is an independent special school for up to 60 young people aged 11–18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
