Job Overview

We are currently looking for a SEN Teacher to join our all-through special school for children aged 2‑19 years in Solihull. The role requires passion, creativity and a strong dedication to meeting the needs of children with a range of SEN, including SLD, PMLD, ASD and ADHD.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver creative lessons that meet the needs of each child.
  • Use a range of SEN pedagogies and work effectively with teaching assistants.
  • Promote a safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Engage with parents, professionals and the wider community to support children's progress.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Hold QTS or enthusiasm to teach students with SEN and desire to take additional SEND training (e.g., SCERTS, TEACCH).
  • Experience of deploying teaching assistants and liaising with mainstream teachers.
  • Ability to deliver a range of activities on a one‑to‑one or small group basis.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, resilient approach.
  • Effective communication with staff, parents and children.
  • High expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour.
  • Positive, caring, flexible and reliable.
