Job summary

Targeted Provision Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking SEND tutors and teachers to transform the lives of young people with SEMH and SEND needs. Roles include Maths, English or Science tutoring, with options for in-person, online, or hybrid delivery.

You should have at least 2 years of teaching experience, QTS/QTLS, and an enhanced DBS. The role is self-employed with flexible hours and supportive CPD, within local authorities and schools.

Qualifications

  • At least 2+ years of teaching experience, preferably with SEND/SEMH.
  • Experience teaching Maths, English or Science is ideal.
  • QTS or QTLS certification is required.
  • Enhanced DBS and references provided or facilitated.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver in-person, online, or hybrid tutoring to children and young people with SEND/SEMH needs.
  • Plan lessons, track progress, and provide regular feedback to authorities/schools.
  • Work with local authorities and schools to support KS1–KS5 where applicable.

SEND Tutor And Teacher Role Requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
  • Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
  • Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
  • Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
The SEND Tutor And Teacher Role And Responsibilities
  • Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
  • Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
  • Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
  • We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
