Qualifications

SEN Teacher - Alternate SEN Primary Provision

Chertsey, Surrey | Start Date: January | Day Rate: £180-£250 (dependent on experience)

We are excited to be recruiting a passionate and skilled SEN Teacher to join a newly opened Alternate SEN Primary Provision in Chertsey, Surrey. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape a nurturing, inclusive learning environment from the ground up and make a real difference to the lives of children with additional needs.

The Role

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, tailored learning experiences to primary-aged pupils with a range of special educational needs. Working closely with a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will help pupils achieve their full potential both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, differentiated teaching to SEN pupils
  • Plan and assess learning using the Equals Curriculum
  • Monitor and record pupil progress using Evidence for Learning
  • Support pupils in preparation for and understanding of SATS, where appropriate
  • Create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, families, and external professionals
Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience working with children with Special Educational Needs
  • Strong knowledge of the Equals Curriculum
  • Understanding of SATS and assessment frameworks
  • Confident use of Evidence for Learning to track and demonstrate progress
  • A patient, adaptable, and child-centred approach
