Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking Individual Needs Assistants to work in primary schools around Hastings and nearby areas. You will support pupils 1:1 or in small groups, helping them engage with learning, build confidence and progress through the school day.

Successful candidateswill be patient, reliable and able to build positive relationships with young people. DBS update service is preferred, with willingness to apply if needed.

Qualifications

• A positive and supportive approach.
• Good communication skills are essential.
• Previous experience with children or young people is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD and SEMH needs
• Working closely with teachers and wider school staff
• Helping pupils stay focused and engaged in lessons
• Encouraging independence and positive behaviour
• Providing emotional and academic support where needed
