SEN Support Assistant

Are you a graduate or experienced support worker? Are you interested in supporting children with autism and other neurological conditions? Are you passionate about helping others, with a patient and encouraging approach?

A Specialist School near Carterton is looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to join their team as an SEN Support Assistant. The school caters for children aged 4-16 with complex needs, including autism, sensory processing difficulties, communication challenges and associated learning needs.

Responsibilities
  • Assist a class of 5 to 10 pupils, working closely with the teaching team, therapists, and support staff to deliver individualized learning plans and interventions.
  • Provide support and encouragement to help students reach their potential.
  • Foster a calm, structured and positive environment to reduce anxiety and build each pupil's confidence.
  • Implement specialist interventions to support communication, social interaction and sensory needs.
  • Assist with challenging behaviours, pastoral care and personal care.
