Job summary

Targeted Provision is seeking SEND Tutors and Teachers to support young people with SEND/SEMH in your community. Deliver Maths, English or Science in person, online or hybrid, within KS1–KS5, and coordinate with local authorities as opportunities arise.

We offer flexible hours, CPD and mentoring, and a self-employed position with opportunities for ongoing work in your area, contributing to better education outcomes for vulnerable learners.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years teaching experience with SEND/SEMH/MLD/SLD/PM LD in trauma-informed settings.
  • QTS or QTLS required; enhanced DBS and two references.
  • UK resident with right to work; safeguarding knowledge and safe learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in person, online or hybrid Maths, English or Science tutoring to learners with SEND/SEMH.
  • Plan lessons, adapt for KS1–KS5 and report progress with regular feedback.
  • Coordinate with local authorities and schools to support vulnerable learners.

SEND Tutor and Teacher role requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
  • Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
  • Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
  • Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
The SEND Tutor and Teacher role and responsibilities
  • Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
  • Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
  • Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
  • We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We want you as part of our mission!
