Job summary

Targeted Provision is actively seeking SEND Tutors and Teachers in the UK to deliver Maths, English, or Science coaching for learners with SEND/SEMH. Roles support disengaged and at-risk youths, offering in-person, hybrid, or remote teaching, with flexible hours and a trauma-informed approach.

As a self-employed opportunity, candidates with QTS/QTLS, 2+ years of teaching, and a DBS check can contribute to a mission-driven team dedicated to improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.

Qualifications

• 2+ years teaching experience, preferably with SEND/SEMH
• Experience teaching KS1–KS5 in trauma-informed settings
• Qualified Teacher Status required (QTS/QTLS)
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references
• UK-based with right to work even for remote/online roles
• Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

Responsibilities

• Provide in person, online / remote, and hybrid tuition for Maths, English, or Science to SEND/SEMH learners
• Plan and report on lessons and provide regular feedback on progress
• Coordinate with local authorities and schools to support vulnerable learners
• Foster a trauma-informed, child-centred learning atmosphere

SEND Tutor And Teacher Role Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
• Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
• Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

The SEND Tutor And Teacher Role And Responsibilities

• Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
• Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
• Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
• We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
