Job summary

Targeted Provision is seeking SEND Tutors and Teachers to transform the lives of disengaged and vulnerable learners. Roles include in-person, hybrid, and remote teaching across Maths, English, or Science with a trauma-informed approach.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years teaching experience with SEND/SEMH/MLD/SLD/PMLD, hold QTS or QTLS, and can obtain an enhanced DBS plus references. Flexible hours and a mission-driven, supportive environment are offered.

Qualifications

• 2+ years teaching experience, ideally with SEND/SEMH/MLD/SLD/PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) is required.
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references are preferred or can be facilitated.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person, online/remote, and hybrid Maths, English, or Science tutoring to children and young people with SEND/SEMH needs.
• Plan and report lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress.
• Support learners from KS1–KS5 with trauma-informed, flexible tutoring.
• Contribute to a child-centered approach and work towards raising educational standards for SEND learners.

SEND Tutor And Teacher Role Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
• Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
• Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

The SEND Tutor And Teacher Role And Responsibilities

• Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
• Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
• Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
• We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
