Job summary

TARGETED PROVISION LTD is seeking SEND tutors and teachers to deliver Maths, English, or Science tutoring in-person, online, or via hybrid formats to children and young people with SEMH and SEND needs across the UK.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of teaching experience, QTS/QTLS, and an Enhanced DBS with two references. Work is self-employed with flexible hours and opportunities to contribute to safeguarding and mentoring across local authorities and schools.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years teaching experience, ideally with SEND/SEMH/MLD/SLD/PMLD.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) required.
  • Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references.
  • Based in the UK with the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person, online/remote, and hybrid Maths, English, or Science tuition to children and young people with SEND/SEMH needs.
  • Plan lessons and report on student progress and provide regular feedback.
  • Collaborate with local authorities and schools to support learners with SEND.
  • Deliver trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring to disengaged and vulnerable learners.

SEND Tutor and Teacher role requirements:
  • Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
  • Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
  • Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote/online jobs
  • Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
The SEND Tutor and Teacher role and responsibilities:
  • Provide in person, online/remote, and hybrid Maths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
  • Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
  • Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
  • We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
