Job summary

TARGETED PROVISION LTD seeks experienced SEND tutors for one-to-one sessions across the UK. The role offers a flexible schedule with part-time engagements and planning/reporting from home, plus CPD access focused on SEMH.

Tutors deliver English, Maths or Science tuition to learners aged 4–18, many with SEMH or SEND needs, in home or other approved settings. DBS and references are required; this is a freelance arrangement, not a salary position.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of teaching or tutoring with SEMH/ASD/ADHD/SEN needs.
• QTS or QTLS or equivalent specialist teaching qualification.
• Ability to teach English, Maths or Science at Key Stages.
• Enhanced DBS and two professional references.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 tutoring in English, Maths or Science to children aged 4–18.
• Sessions typically 1–2 hours, in-person or home-based; occasional school/centre placements.
• Deliver per-session reports using provided templates.
• Maintain safeguarding, professionalism and child-centered approach.

Job description

You'll work with vulnerable young people, one at a time, on their terms - none of the teaching-at-scale trade-off, less admin, just one person and the part of teaching you care about. We're recruiting experienced SEND tutors in London, £28 - £35 per hour, for one-to-one tuition with children and young people who've fallen out of mainstream education, or never been properly served by it.

Day to day

• One-to-one tuition in English, Maths, or Science to children aged 4-18, referred by Local Authorities and schools.
• Sessions typically 1-2 hours, in-person - often in the home, sometimes in school or a community setting, occasionally hybrid, usually within school hours.
• Most learners have SEMH, ADHD, ASC, MLD, SLD, or other SEND needs; many are out of school or at risk of being so.
• Per-session reports supported by templates and your SEND Support Specialist.

You'll need

• Experience: 2+ years' teaching or tutoring, including substantial hands-on work with SEMH, ADHD, ASC, MLD, SLD, or other SEND needs.
• Qualification: QTS or QTLS, or an equivalent specialist teaching qualification.
• Subjects: Confidence teaching English, Maths, or Science at one or more Key Stages.
• Safeguarding: It is a strict requirement that you have the ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can help arrange this) and two professional references.
• Right to work: UK-based with right to work in the UK.
