Job summary

An educational support agency is seeking a qualified SEN / SEND Tutor in Thurrock to work with a young non-verbal student. The ideal candidate will provide engaging and personalized sessions focusing on the student's educational and social-emotional development. Experience with Makaton or PECS is beneficial. This role offers 15 hours per week, split into 3 hours each day.

Qualifications

  • Qualified SEN / SEND teacher with experience in 1:1 tutoring.
  • Experience working with non-verbal children preferred.
  • Understanding of holistic, flexible, and trauma-informed teaching methods.

Responsibilities

  • Plan each session of teaching/tutoring/mentoring.
  • Provide engaging sessions that meet students' needs.
  • Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress.

SEN / SEND Tutor - Thurrock Essed- 15 Hours a week / 3 hours a day

We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Thurrock.

This role is perfect for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who are eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible holistic, and trauma‑informed manner, to raise their engagement and drastically improve the outlook of their educational journey.

We are looking for a SEN Tutor to work with a young student in reception based in Thurrock, the student is non‑verbal so a tutor with Makaton or PECS experience would be beneficial.

SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities:

  • Planning each session of teaching / tutoring / mentoring
  • Providing the young person with holistic and engaging sessions which meet their needs and advance their educational and social‑emotional journey
  • Completing lesson reports and providing feedback on the young person's progress
