Job summary

An educational recruitment agency is seeking a dedicated SEN Secondary Class Teacher for a specialist school. The role involves delivering tailored, high-quality teaching to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Lewisham. Responsibilities include planning inclusive lessons, supporting learning, and collaborating with families and support staff. A QTS is required, along with experience in a secondary setting. Qualifications

  • Proven experience teaching pupils with SEND in a secondary setting.
  • Strong knowledge of EHCP processes and differentiation strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons across secondary-level subjects.
  • Implement individualised learning programmes aligned with pupils' EHCPs.
  • Support pupils with ASD, PMLD, SEMH, and complex needs.
  • Promote communication skills using AAC, Makaton, and assistive technologies.
  • Teach personal and life skills to foster independence.
  • Monitor progress against SMART targets and EHCP outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with TAs, therapists, and families.
  • Ensure compliance with SEND statutory requirements.
