SEN Secondary Teacher - Bristol – BS35

Are you an experienced teacher ready to make a real difference in the lives of young people with autism and related needs?

We are seeking a full time, permanent SEN Secondary Teacher to work within a vibrant, specialist education setting for pupils aged 7–19 with a primary or secondary diagnosis of Autism.

* Bristol – BS35
* September start
* Full time, permanent role
* Paid to scale: M1 – UPS2
* To be appointed on the Upper Pay Scale, candidates must - Be currently paid on UPS and able to evidence this, and hold or take on a specific responsibility contributing to whole-school improvement

What you’ll be doing:

* Delivering engaging and differentiated lessons, primarily at KS3/KS4 level, with a focus on Maths or Computing
* Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, OCD, PDA, and other complex needs in accessing a broad and balanced curriculum.
* Leading a class with the support of Teaching Assistants and HLTAs, and playing a role in their professional development.
* Planning lessons that lead to meaningful outcomes across a range of pathways including GCSEs, Functional Skills, Entry Level Certificates and BTECs.
* Supporting students to develop resilience, independence, and confidence in both academic and life skills.
* Collaborating closely with clinical, pastoral, and SEND professionals to ensure holistic support.

The right SEN Secondary Teacher will have:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Strong knowledge of the curriculum, and how to adapt it for pupils with SEN
* Experience teaching young people with Autism and complex needs
* Proven ability to build trusting, nurturing relationships with students
