Job summary

GSL Education in Southend-on-Sea is seeking a dedicated School Support Worker to assist students with SEN in the classroom and on a 1:1 basis. You will support teachers with lessons and behaviour, helping pupils stay engaged and build confidence.

The role is full-time, term-time only, with a competitive daily rate and a commitment to safeguarding. An enhanced DBS Update Service is required or applicants must be willing to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people in school, care, or youth work.
• Calm, reliable and able to work well as part of a team.
• Passion for inclusive education and making a positive impact.
• Willingness to obtain or hold Enhanced DBS Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Providing classroom and 1:1 support to students with SEN or additional learning needs.
• Assisting teachers with behaviour management and lesson delivery
• Helping students build confidence, regulate emotions, and stay engaged with learning
• Working closely with the SENCO and pastoral teams to deliver targeted support
