Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking an Outreach SEN Tutor to support students in Southend on Sea around 10–15 hours per week. You will work with students with SEN in schools or at home, delivering tailored one-to-one or small group sessions and developing individual learning plans.

You'll adapt teaching methods to meet diverse needs, collaborate with SENCOs, teachers and parents, and monitor progress to optimize outcomes. A genuine passion for helping children thrive is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEN students in outreach/tutoring roles.
• Knowledge of SEN categories (autism, dyslexia, ADHD, speech and language needs).
• Teaching qualification or SEN training is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, personalized tutoring to SEN students in schools or at home.
• Adapt teaching methods to diverse learning needs and keep students engaged.
• Collaborate with SENCOs, teachers and parents to track progress and adjust plans.
• Foster an inclusive, positive learning environment.
• Monitor and report progress to parents and professionals.
• Support development of social, emotional and academic skills.
• Encourage independent learning and student confidence.
