Job summary

Remedy Tutors in Sutton is seeking an Outreach Tutor to provide personalised one-to-one Maths and English tuition, mainly in the student’s home or another suitable community setting.

You will work with primary to GCSE learners, supporting those with SEN needs and helping them build confidence and progress. A DBS Update Service is preferred but not essential; flexible hours and typical referrals of 10–15 hours per week per student are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to tutor Maths and English to primary to GCSE level.
• Experience supporting students with SEN/SEND.
• Comfortable delivering sessions in homes or community settings.
• No mandatory teaching qualification required if you have tutoring/educational experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one Maths and English tuition.
• Support learners from primary through GCSE levels.
• Teach additional subjects if you have suitable experience.
• Help students rebuild confidence and engagement with education.
• Identify gaps in learning and tailor sessions to individual needs.
• Plan engaging, purposeful sessions and adapt to SEN requirements.
• Support EHCP targets and learning goals where appropriate.
• Record progress and communicate with parents when required.
