Job summary

Gosforth Academy in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join the Student Support Department. The role involves supporting students with a range of needs, including physical/personal requirements, and building pastoral links.

You will work across Key Stages to ensure access to the curriculum, collaborate with staff, and contribute to the wider work of the Student Support Base within the Gosforth Group.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of SEN and ability to support students with a range of needs.
• Experience supporting individuals with learning difficulties or disabilities and young people.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Commitment to supporting students and willingness to meet physical/personal needs.
• Attention to detail and adaptability.
• A proactive, flexible team player.

Responsibilities

• Support students to access the curriculum across Key Stages.
• Develop strong pastoral links with the students you work with.
• Support the wider work of the Student Support Base (SSB).
