Job summary

Model Integrated Primary School in Antrim is seeking a part-time General Assistant 2 to support a Year 2 pupil with diabetes, assisting teachers and school staff in caring for pupils.

The role involves helping with toileting, mobility and feeding, supervising pupils during the school day and on outings, and following health and safety procedures as required by the school.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two months’ demonstrable experience of working with a child in a formal setting.
• Knowledge of General Assistant 2 role requirements.
• Willingness to undertake job-related training as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Assist pupils with toileting, personal hygiene and dressing.
• Ensure safe mobility and supervision of pupils within school and on outings.
• Accompany staff during group activities and therapies as needed.
• Assist with feeding at meal times and with setting out equipment.
