Job description

Teaching Personnel are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a Nursery team from January until the end of the Summer term at a Primary School in Aintree.

This role involves supporting young children with complex needs, including speech and language difficulties. Some pupils are non-verbal, so experience with alternative communication methods and a nurturing, responsive approach is essential.

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide tailored support to children with complex and additional needs

  • Support communication development, including non-verbal communication strategies

  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals

  • Create a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment

  • Show warmth, patience, and a genuine commitment to every child’s progress

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working in Early Years or with children with SEND

  • Has an understanding of speech and language needs

  • Is compassionate, adaptable, and resilient

  • Shares and supports the Catholic ethos of the school
