Job description

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for a fully qualified (QTS) SEN English Class Teacher to join SEN PRU in Harrow.

Required: SEN English Class Teacher
Location: Harrow, Northwest London
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-term (Until July 2026)
Contract: Part time, 2 days per week, ideally Monday & Thursday
Time: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Daily rate: GBP160 - GBP256

About the Roles

Prospero Teaching is recruiting for a long‑term position at a specialist SEN school and Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Harrow Weald, Northwest London. The role is for a SEN English Class Teacher, the cover will be needed until July 2026 and could extend further or lead to permanent opportunities.

This PRU serves students aged 5‑16 who are unable to attend mainstream schools and supports a small cohort of 35‑36 pupils. The school is rated Good by Ofsted and offers a nurturing environment to meet the diverse needs of its learners. We are seeking passionate and experienced educators to join their team.

What We Are Looking For
  • A qualified English class teacher with experience working in SEN or SEMH settings
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to plan and deliver differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum
  • Creative, hands‑on approach to engaging and inspiring learners
  • Understanding of trauma‑informed practice and supporting disengaged students
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Child and Adult DBS (Enhanced Disclosure)
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • 2 Professional References
