Flexible SEN Cover Supervisor / HLTA Opportunities with Tradewind Recruitment

We're currently recruiting SEN Cover Supervisors and HLTAs for flexible work in specialist SEND schools in Swindon that supports children and young people with a wide range of additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, communication needs and sensory processing differences. This is a flexible position with part-time, short-term and ad-hoc opportunities available - perfect for someone not seeking a full-time, long-term post.

About the Role

You'll provide cover and learning support across KS1-Post-16 classes, stepping in to deliver pre-set work and maintain a safe, structured and nurturing environment. As a SEN Cover Supervisor or HLTA you may lead small groups, supervise whole classes when teachers are absent, or support teaching staff in delivering tailored lessons.

Pupils in this setting may have:

• Moderate to severe learning difficulties
• Autism and communication needs
• Sensory processing differences
• Associated SEMH or anxiety-related needs

Your approach will be hands-on, patient, and adaptable, with a focus on building trust, encouraging engagement and promoting independence at each learner's level.

You're ideal for this role if you:

• Have experience as a SEN Cover Supervisor, HLTA, SEN TA or unqualified teacher
• Are confident delivering set work and managing small classes or groups
• Understand or have worked with pupils with SEND (all training levels considered)
• Can use a calm, consistent and positive approach to behaviour and communication
• Are available for flexible, short-term or part-time assignments

A Level 4 HLTA qualification is beneficial but not essential. Strong experience within a similar level role and the right attitude are equally valued.

• Location: Swindon
• Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, term-time only
• Pay: 125 to 160 per day
• Availability Options: Full-time or part-time
