Job summary

Flexzo Teach in Stanstead Abbotts, Hertfordshire, is seeking an experienced SEN Class Teacher to join a specialist SEND school. You will deliver highly differentiated lessons for pupils with SLD and PMLD, lead curriculum planning, and mentor colleagues to drive school improvement.

Applicants must have QTS and a minimum of six years' experience in similar settings, with strong knowledge of SEND strategies and effective classroom management.

Qualifications

• QTS is essential.
• Six years' teaching experience in a similar specialist SLD/PMLD setting is essential.
• Strong knowledge of SEND teaching strategies and differentiated learning.
• Experience mentoring colleagues and contributing to curriculum development.
• Excellent classroom management, communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to improving educational outcomes for pupils with complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SLD, PMLD and complex additional needs.
• Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches to meet individual needs.
• Lead and support classroom staff, promoting effective teamwork and high standards of practice.
• Contribute to curriculum development, subject leadership and wider school improvement.
• Work closely with parents, carers and external professionals to support pupil outcomes.
