Job summary

Randstad Education in East Grinstead is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Class Teacher to make a meaningful difference for young people. You will plan and deliver creative lessons for SEN students aged 7-19, including GCSE-level work, and supervise teaching assistants within a supportive team.

The role requires QTS, experience with SEN, a proactive, organised approach, and the ability to travel to a rural site with transport. Term-time-only working with INSET days is offered.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• Proven experience supporting students with special educational needs.
• Friendly, organised approach and a passion for teaching.
• Access to own transport due to rural site.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to undergo a DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, stimulating lessons for SEN students aged 7-19, including GCSE-standard work.
• Provide a safe, nurturing space for all students to reach their potential.
• Supervise teaching assistants and collaborate with the team to support pupil growth.
• Support emotional well-being and development of pupils.
• Communicate progress and feedback with parents regularly.
• Ensure safeguarding policies are followed and maintain high safety standards.
• Maintain calm professionalism when managing challenging behaviours.

Working Hours: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 8:45-16:00, Wednesday 8:45-16:30, Friday 8:45-15:30

Your Role

• Planning and delivering creative, stimulating lessons for SEN students aged 7-19, including GCSE-standard work.
• Providing a safe, nurturing space where every student feels inspired to reach their full potential.
• Supervising teaching assistants within the classroom setting and collaborating with a great team to help our students grow.
• Supporting the emotional well-being and developmental needs of our pupils.
• Communicating regularly and positively with parents to celebrate progress, give quality feedback, and keep everyone informed.
• Ensuring our school's high standards for safety and well-being are always put first and following safeguarding policies.
• Maintaining a calm and professional composure when faced with challenging behaviours.
