Job Title: Semi-Skilled Operatives

Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour
Hours: Flexible

About the Role

We’re looking for reliable and hardworking Semi-Skilled Operatives to join a busy team in Solihull. This is a practical, hands-on role involving a variety of manual tasks such as moving, setting up, and transporting furniture and equipment across different areas of the site. Duties also include quality checking items, requiring a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities
  • Loading and unloading furniture and equipment from vans and lorries
  • Manual lifting and safe handling of goods
  • Transporting materials and furniture around site
  • Setting up exhibitions, stalls, and display areas
  • Assisting with setup and dismantling
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Following instructions and working effectively as part of a team
Quality Checking Duties
  • Inspecting parts for damages such as scratches, dents, or marks
  • Ensuring all products meet quality standards before dispatch or installation
  • Using hand tools where required to check or prepare parts
  • Maintaining accurate inspection records and reporting any defects
  • Demonstrating a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to work
Requirements
  • Must be based in Solihull or Birmingham
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual lifting
  • Previous experience in a similar manual or quality-checking role (preferred but not essential)
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team
  • Health & Safety awareness
  • Must be flexible with working hours – shift times will vary depending on project requirements and may include early starts, late finishes, or weekend work
