Job Description

We are recruiting for a semi-skilled Carpenter for an Established Freight and Exporting Company near Southampton UK.

The role will be predominantly making up special cases for large products to be packed and exported across the world. There will also be packing duties as part of this position.

Hours: Full-time 8am - 4.30pm 40 hours per week Monday Friday

Salary: Starting salary of 13 per hour potentially rising to 16.50 depending on skill set and performance.

Overtime is paid at x1.5 for hours worked on Saturdays up to 2pm then x 2 thereafter.

Job Overview

• Manufacturing bespoke plywood and timber packing cases
• Packing equipment for export
• Operating industrial saws (crosscut panel saws)
• Using pneumatic nail guns
• Receiving and packing customers equipment
• Delivering and collecting orders (including empty cases)
• Cleaning and maintaining tools

Ideal Candidate

• Experience with hand tools (e.g. nail guns drills saws) is preferred but not essential
• Ability to think on their feet and solve problems
• Should be responsible reliable and professional
• Full driving license is a plus
