Job summary

A well-established accountancy firm in Newport Pagnell is seeking an Auditor to examine and analyze accounting records for accuracy and financial status. This permanent, full-time role offers opportunities for growth and development, supporting audit assignments, preparing accounts, and liaising with clients. Ideal candidates will have experience in a UK practice and be studying towards ACA or ACCA, with strong communication skills and attention to detail. Office-based hours are Monday to Friday, either 8.30am to 5pm or 8am to 4.30pm.

Qualifications

  • Studying towards ACA or ACCA.
  • Solid foundation in audit and account preparation.
  • Comfortable with analytical reviews and audit testing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Our well‑established and respected client provides Chartered Accountancy services to a wide variety of businesses requiring all aspects of financial support. They have a great opportunity for an Auditor to join them as part of their continued growth. You will be examining, analysing and reviewing accounting records to ascertain their accuracy and determine the financial status of a diverse portfolio of privately owned businesses. This role would suit a semi‑senior auditor who is looking for continued development. The role is permanent, full time, 8.30am to 5pm, or 8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday and is office based.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting audit assignments from planning through to completion
  • Identifying key risks and carrying out fieldwork and testing
  • Preparing statutory accounts and performing analytical reviews
  • Liaising with clients and building trusted relationships
  • Keeping managers updated on progress and helping ensure deadlines are met
  • Creating reports: after investigating accounting records you need to prepare a detailed report on audit findings and recommendations
