Job summary

Maiden Erlegh Trust's Horizons Alternative Provision Academy seeks a tutor to provide one-to-one and small-group teaching for pupils unable to attend full-time school.

You will tailor learning, support emotional wellbeing, liaise with families and external professionals, and contribute to reintegration programmes; a DBS enhanced check is expected; hybrid working is available for eligible roles.

Qualifications

• Experience with children and young people facing barriers to education.
• Ability to build trusting relationships.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding and inclusion.
• Organised and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalised learning for individuals and small groups.
• Adapt teaching to a wide range of learning needs.
• Monitor and record pupil progress and engagement.
• Work with families and external professionals to support outcomes.
• Maintain safeguarding and welfare duties.
• Keep accurate reports and records.
• Contribute to reintegration programmes.
