SEND Teaching Assistant – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately

These flexible opportunities are ideal for support staff who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You will be supporting pupils in Barnet and the surrounding areas, helping them access learning and develop essential social, emotional, and academic skills.

Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Assist teachers in delivering differentiated and accessible learning activities
  • Help implement individual education plans and behaviour support strategies
  • Support pupils with personal care needs where required
  • Promote an inclusive and positive learning environment
  • Monitor pupil progress and share observations with staff
  • Contribute to wider school life during longer-term placements
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND
  • Understanding of strategies for supporting needs such as autism, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties
  • Ability to build positive and nurturing relationships with pupils
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
