Job summary

Sense Education is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to foster a calm, caring classroom where students feel understood and supported.

The role starts immediately, with weekly pay and DBS checks as part of the safeguarding process. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in schools or youth settings, excellent communication and the ability to remain calm under

Qualifications

• Experience in schools, care settings, youth work or with young people with special educational needs.
• Excellent soft skills including patience, empathy, resilience and strong communication.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils.
• Calm and supportive under challenging situations.
• Proactive, adaptable and genuinely passionate about helping young people succeed.
