Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd. is recruiting SEMH Teaching Assistants to support students with social, emotional and mental health needs in specialist settings across BS4, Bristol.

The role involves 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils manage emotions, and building positive relationships. Flexible full-time and part-time opportunities with ongoing consultant support are offered to develop careers in teaching, psychology, counselling, and social care.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for supporting young people
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and resilience
• An understanding of mental health or behavioural needs
• Previous experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults is desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students
• Help pupils manage emotions and engage positively with learning
• Build strong, trusting relationships with young people
• Support positive behaviour and wellbeing
• Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to promote student success
• Encourage confidence, resilience, and independence
