Job summary

Smart Teachers is recruiting a SEMH Teaching Assistant for a specialist provision in Edgware, North West London. The role runs 09:00-15:00, Mon-Fri, with a start date of September 2026. Salary ranges between £18,000 and £19,000 depending on experience and qualifications, on a temp to perm basis.

The school supports EHCP pupils and focuses on social, emotional and behavioural development alongside academics. A nurturing environment with strong collaboration awaits.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH and/or SEND (desirable but not essential).
• Patient, empathetic and adaptable nature.
• Genuine commitment to helping children thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
• Availability for full-time work (Monday-Friday, 8:15am-4:00pm).

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support across the primary age range.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and social interaction.
• Supporting children's academic progress alongside their emotional and personal growth.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to deliver a holistic approach.
