Job Description: SEND Teacher (Specialist School)

Location: Specialist School, Northumberland

Salary: £180 - £220 a day

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEND Teacher to support Secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and additional learning needs. The role involves teaching and supporting pupils both in-centre and through outreach to mainstream settings, helping them engage positively with learning, develop self-regulation, and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality lessons tailored to SEND and SEMH pupils
  • Plan and implement personalised learning strategies and interventions
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour management
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, SENDCo, and external agencies
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress, behaviour, and interventions
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
Job Requirements
  • Qualified teacher status (QTS)
