Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND LSA for a Bristol school to support pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour from September 2026 on a long-term basis. The role offers structured support to help learners engage with lessons within a positive environment.

We welcome Team Teach qualified candidates or those with equivalent positive behaviour support qualifications, with strong communication and a patient, resilient approach. PAYE payment and CPD opportunities are provided by the agency.

Qualifications

• Team Teach qualification or equivalent.
• Experience supporting children and young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
• Experience managing challenging behaviour in an educational setting.
• Strong communication skills.
• A patient and resilient approach.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour to engage with learning.
• Maintain a positive, structured and supportive environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support learner engagement.
• Participate in CPD and contribute to staff development.
