Job summary

Philosophy Education in Enfield is seeking an LSA and Behaviour Mentor to support students aged 11 to 19 in a small, therapeutic secondary school. The role focuses on SEMH needs, with daily mentoring to help pupils engage in lessons and routines.

You will work with teachers and therapists to maintain a calm, safe learning environment, applying behaviour and emotional regulation strategies and helping students build social skills and confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is highly advantageous.
• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
• Ability to build trusting and supportive relationships with students.
• Resilience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for helping vulnerable young people succeed.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised support to students with SEMH needs, helping them engage positively in lessons and daily routines.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to maintain a calm, structured, and safe learning environment.
• Implement behaviour and emotional regulation strategies in line with student support plans.
• Encourage the development of social skills, emotional resilience, and confidence.
• Support students in overcoming barriers to learning through consistent, empathetic guidance.
