Milk Education is recruiting Learning Support Assistants for a specialist SEMH school near Cramlington. This full-time opportunity is designed for aspiring Psychologists seeking practical experience in education.

You will support students 1:1 or in small groups, help manage behaviour, and promote emotional wellbeing, resilience and engagement with learning.

The role runs Monday to Friday during term time with a weekly pay of £450–£550; safeguarding and compliance checks apply.

Qualifications

• A degree in Psychology or a related subject.
• Experience in youth work, coaching, mentoring, care, or support work.
• A strong interest in behaviour and mental health.
• Patience, resilience, and emotional maturity.
• Confidence working with teenagers.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small group support to students.
• Help pupils manage behaviour and emotional triggers.
• Support focus and participation in lessons.
• Act as a calm, positive role model.
• Build strong, professional relationships with students.
• Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams.
• Encourage routines, boundaries, and positive choices.
• Promote confidence, self-esteem, and progress.
