Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a committed SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join our partner specialist schools in the Farnborough area. You will support pupils with SEMH needs to overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.

The role involves developing trusting relationships, delivering targeted interventions, and working with teachers, pastoral teams and external professionals to tailor support to individual needs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or related needs.
• Understand trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches.
• Calm, patient and professional under challenging conditions.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with pupils and act as a supportive role model.
• Deliver targeted interventions to support SEMH and behaviour.
• Support pupils in lessons and in small groups or 1:1 settings.
• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, families and external agencies.
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to progress reviews.
