Job summary

TeacherActive is partnering with a specialist alternative provision in the Liverpool area to recruit a Learning Support Assistant. The role starts in September and is long-term with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate, focusing on pupils aged 11-16 who need SEMH support.

You will support learning and emotional wellbeing, manage challenging behaviour with a calm, patient approach, and work closely with a wider staff team to help each student reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs.
• Proven experience managing challenging behaviour in education or care.
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour management.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work as part of a wider staff team.
• Genuine passion for helping young people reach their potential.
