About the Role

As a SEMH Learning Support Assistant, you'll work closely with pupils, teachers, and other support staff to help create a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment. Your role will involve:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support for students with Social Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties
  • Assisting with behaviour management strategies to support students' engagement in learning
  • Engage in outreach within the community
  • Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing and social development
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and external agencies to ensure consistent and effective support
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to individual behaviour plans
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with behavioural or special educational needs (SEN)
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to remain professional and positive in challenging situations
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ in Childcare/Education, Team Teach training) are desirable but not essential
  • Access to a vehicle – desirable but not essential
