A specialist educational institution in the UK is seeking a passionate SEMH Humanities Teacher. This full-time role involves teaching Humanities to secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. Ideal candidates will have QTS or equivalent and experience in SEMH settings. The school values creativity and emotional intelligence, offering comprehensive support and professional development from day one.
We are looking for a passionate and resilient SEMH Humanities Teacher to join a specialist school in Bishop's Stortford, supporting secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. This is a full-time, permanent position starting August 2025.
You will teach Humanities across Key Stages 3 and 4, adapting the curriculum to meet a range of learning profiles, including pupils with Autism, ADHD, and attachment-related difficulties. Classes are small, behaviour is supported by strong policies and a therapeutic approach, and you will be part of a committed, well-established team.
This role is ideal for someone with creativity, emotional intelligence, and a calm, structured approach to classroom management. Whether you're an experienced SEMH specialist or a mainstream teacher ready to make a meaningful change, support and CPD are available from day one.
The school provides clear behaviour frameworks, a strong sense of community, and a shared belief that every young person can succeed with the right support. Your lessons will go beyond academic content - helping students develop confidence, identity, and the skills to thrive.
You'll be well-compensated with a salary that reflects your experience and contribution, and you'll work in a team where collaboration is part of daily life.
SENDirect is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Applicants will be subject to enhanced DBS and reference checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education. You must have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorships are not available.
If this sounds like your next step, apply today.
